Sitio Little Baguio in Real Quezon

Jariel Peak

It is foggy and cold up there

The above are all old posts and articles  When I acquire a new camera, let us show the wondeful new places in this Little Baguio and you too may fall in love. and buy a property. (Wait for me to finish a deal.)

My neighbor, an ex Seaman  (a Tercero - engine man) has been making :"kulit" regarding his proposed purchase of real property in Real Quezon along Marcos highway.  When the Marcos highway was just macadam and the lots were only P30.00 per square meter along the highway (my neighbor bought his interior lots at P50.00 or even less).  I did not bother to look nor join the tripping because it is difficult to maintain a far away property.  I did though visit these places in 4x4 adventures and I experienced it was cold in these areas at this mid part of the Sierra Madre:  foggy, cold and changing weather.  Lately, I heard some of my bikemakes riders ride up this place.

Several weeks ago, I joined an engineer friend who was asking for advice on a a memorial park and I discussed this with him and he said that from his place in Infanta (he is from the place) this is still a one hour drive and it is in some of the steep portion of  Real Quezon.  I must have biked no less than 4 times to Real Quezon and the latest was 2 weeks ago (when I joined Ed Valdez up to Llavac)

And so I joined this neighbor Chito H who all ready owns some 12 hectares in the area (he must have saved a lot of money when he was seaman.)  And so we went via his Tamaraw FX in the afternoon of Friday, December 26, 2014 right after Christmas.  In Tanay, we were joined by his partner, fmr Barangay Captain Nardo in going to little Baguio in Real Quezon.   So went right to Sampaloc and our first stop near the Philippine Army Jungle base.  I was shown a 5 hectare property near the Napocor towers at P250.00 and a 24 hectare property nearby at P300.00.  Was not very interested since there was this negative thing about being near a Napocor tower carrying  120,000 volts. through its 6 sets of wires (x 4)  24 pcs in all, each one carrying 11,000 volts.

After one hour after passsing through an area called Saksak, we arrived at Sitio Mapalad, Barrio Llavac, Real Quezon.  Km 89.  Our FX went down to the slippery road not to because it was raining and I was afraid that the vehicle, having a weak axle and with no 4x4 system could not ascend. We first went to their  property

It was raining, was foggy and could see much.  It was cold just like in Baguio and even colder than Tagaytay.  It was just like Baguio.  Most of the vehicles there were mostly MBikers, MTbikers and I am sure they would have fine time there.  It was cold and romantic.

The site is aaccessible too via Masinag, Cogeo, Marcos highway.  About 1 hour from Masinag by car and another 30 minutes to the site. We took the Tanay, Manila East Road route.   Thus why go to Baguio (a 6 hours ride and lots off traffic.  Baguio is densely populated and very much populated and and property prices are sky high!) Or buy in Tagaytay where real estate prices is exorbitant now.  And of course there is the danger of Taal Volcano, an alive and kicking volcano which can just explode anytime.

But since this is not well known yet, property prices are still in their lows.   However, a lot of Chinese are buying properties like they are wild or drunk, driving up prices.

Further up they say there is the resort of Dr. Tam, a famous radio announcer., the mansion of a Rizal Congressman, a mansion by a Japanese national.  Chito says that further up, there is a spot where you can look down on the clouds

Chito wanted to put up an affordable restaurant and a tent city for bikers.:  MC, MTBs and roadies..ay P50 per night.  Or even a roadside inn There was electricity and water.   The neighbor of Chito is a Chinese (he has 12 hectares).  They call him boss Vic and they say he owns a garment factory in Pasig.  His other neighbor is a General who visits his lot in a helicopter (oooops)

Further down there are farms and one property is a religious shrine and they say this owned by rich matron from Taytay.

They showed me a property about 300 meters frontage, with smooth sloping terrain, and overlooking  both Pacific Ocean and Laguna lake.  I hope I can form a corporation with several other nature lovers and who value their health to buy this early on.

I invite those friends who value good health and who do not want to experience ill effect of global warming (because it is cold) and it is mere l.5 hours from Metro Manila.

Why do we want to live in Baguio? Or in San Francisco USA, because it is cold.  Dont you think this is the cheaper and more convenient way to experience cold weather the whole year round without hastle of air travel, customs, immigration, and security check  Only 90 km away.   1.5 hours form the noisy, polluted MM.

I fell in love with the place, as if I was in the a different world.  Shangrila.
